Terms of Use
The rules for using TopMD, in plain language.
Last updated: 28 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use TopMD, the study website at topmd.net and the study app at app.topmd.net (together, "TopMD"). By creating an account or using TopMD you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use TopMD.
2. Your account
- You must give a valid email address and keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- An account is for one person. It may be registered on three devices (1 computer, 1 phone and 1 tablet), and one device is signed in at a time; a new device of a kind already registered replaces that device.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Plans and subscription codes
- Every account starts on the free plan, which opens the sources marked Free.
- Premium is activated with a subscription code. A code adds its stated length to your plan from the day it's redeemed and can be used once.
- When a plan ends your account returns to the free plan. Your own study data (answers, notes, flashcards, bookmarks) is kept.
- Codes are personal unless they were issued for a group, and may not be resold.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, download in bulk, scrape, record or redistribute questions, explanations, images or videos;
- share your account or sign-in details;
- try to get around plan limits, device limits or security measures, or disrupt the service;
- post unlawful, abusive or misleading content in study rooms or messages.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Content
TopMD and its content are protected by copyright and other laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the content for your own study while your account is active. Notes and other content you create remain yours; you give us permission to store and process it to run your account.
6. Educational use only
TopMD is a study tool for exam preparation. It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose or treat patients. Content is reviewed with care but may contain errors or become outdated; always rely on current clinical guidelines and your own professional judgement.
7. Exams and trademarks
Exam names such as USMLE, NAC, PLAB, UKMLA, AMC, Prometric, NEET-PG, INI-CET and FMGE belong to their respective owners. TopMD is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any examining body. We can't guarantee any exam result.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep TopMD available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. We may add, change or remove features and content. If we make important changes to these terms we'll announce them on this page and, where appropriate, by email.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, TopMD is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on study content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using TopMD and ask us to delete your account at any time through the contact page.
